Skin pigmentation is normal, but any irregular pigmentation is unwanted because it affects our beauty and self esteem. Irregular skin pigmentation such as age spots, blemishes, melasma, skin discoloration or uneven complexion appears as our skin is exposed to the trauma of life. As a protective mechanism, our skin darkens and melanin is produced when it is exposed to the sun or if there is trauma and inflammation to a certain area (acne lesions).
People with fair skin are especially prone and pigment issues and in a constant battle against skin pigmentation. It is sometimes as simple as staying out of the sun to prevent pigmentation problems such as sun and age spots.

There are many different natural remedies which help eliminate pigmentation. Some of them can be found right in your kitchen. Here we will discuss 10 natural ingredients you can use to help avoid and lighten your pigmentation spots

1) Lemon & Cream
Take some fresh cream and squeeze a quarter of a lemon and apply to your face for 5 – 10 minutes. Gradually skin pigmentation will become lightener. (be careful with using citrus type ingredients on your skin as citrus might cause cause photosensitivity and use sparingly for those with sensitive skin.
2) Cucumber Juice
Applying cucumber juice to your face has also been known to decrease any color marks in your face along with any acne you may have. That is why this one is number six on our list!
3) Cumin seeds
Try boiling cumin seeds and then washing your face with the cumin seed water
4) Orange Peel with Milk
Grinding up dried orange peels with raw milk and make a thick paste and apply it onto your face. Give it 15 – 20 minutes and rinse off This will not only clear up the face pigmentation, but you will also notice a decrease in pimples!
5) Avocado Honey
Mash up half an avocado (must be ripe) and add 2 tea spoons of honey and smother it all over your face. It has great healing properties and has a mild skin lightening effect. Avocado can heal sun damage. It is also one of the best treatments for age spots. Honey, on the other hand, contains gentle bleaching properties.
6) Vinegar
Dilute some vinegar in water and apply to the face. Rinse and let it dry on its own. The acetic acid is the element in vinegar that will help lighten pigments
7) Potato Juice
Grate some potatoes and squeeze the juice out it and apply it to your skin for 15 to 20 minutes.
8) Banana and guava
Mash up a banana and guava into a paste and apply it to your skin. This will decrease the of pigmentation and improve the overall feel of the skin.
9) Ground almonds
Make a face pack out of ground almonds. Soak overnight along with raw milk or cream and apply to your face for 15 – 20 minutes. Almonds are know to be one of the best remedies for tan spots.
10) Lime & Basil Leaves
Mash up the basil leaves and lime juice and apply to your face for 5 minutes and rinse off. Do this daily and you’ll see a gradual reduction in pigmented spots. If the lime juice is too strong for your skin, add some water to the mix.
