How to Extract Those Blackhead Buggers From Your Face?

Those unsightly bumps on the face can eat into our confidence.

So what to do with blackheads and whiteheads? Just leave them alone and wait for the body to slowly get rid of it or extract them entirely from your face.

I SAY EXTRACT THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS! However, be very careful when extracting a blackheads and whiteheads, otherwise you run the risk of permanent facial scaring. When extracting blackheads  follow the following steps:

1. Spot the blackhead

If the blackhead has developed, it shouldn’t be hard to find. Good lighting and a clean clear mirror is important in spotting exacting where the blackhead is hiding.  The pore should be enlarged with a black dot either raised as a small bump, or just inside the skin. Blackheads are a mixture of dead skin cells, oil and bacteria that builds up inside our skin’s pores

2. Open the pores for Extraction

Temporarily steaming the face or using a warm towel over your head will help the pores to open and the comedones to loosen. This will make the comedone extraction process much easier and reduces the risk of over exerting force which can damage the skin.

3. Use the right tools

It is recommended that you use a comedone extractor to push those little buggers out of your skin. Many people may use their finger nails to get the job done due the greater control and more precise execution. The nails is a great tool and I must admit I sometimes use it over a comedone extractor. The only problem are the bacteria and germs that come with your nails. Make sure if you are going to use your nails, or any other tools for that matter, that you thoroughly sterilize it using alcohol, or some sort of methylated spirits to kill any germs.

4. Extermination time

It’s time to terminate those disgusting comedones from your face. If using a comedone extraction tool, first lightly use the pin to pierce the blackhead or whitehead to open the pore and then using the loop side of the extractor to encircle the area of the blackhead /whitehead and apply even light pressure until the comedone is pushed out of the pore. Don’t apply too much pressure as this can damage your skin. If the comedone doesn’t easily come out, then it just means it is not ready and wait for another 1/2 to 1 day before trying again.

5. Disinfection stage

Use a clean piece of paper to soak up any oil and debris from the pore and then dab a bit of tea tree oil on the opened pore to prevent and minimize any further infection. A very small scab may develop which will fall off after 3 days to reveal new smooth skin.

Warning

Don’t try to extract cystic acne. These pimples are too deep underneath the skin and will cause permanent scaring if the pustules are infected. Leave these to professional dermatologist.
