BELLA LUCCE MORINGA & SHEA CLEANSING BAR (113G)

Unwrap this piece of authentic Malian bogolan cloth to reveal a handmade, luxury soap created with indigenous beauty secrets from Africa. Nilotica shea butter from Uganda mingles with moringa oil from Kenya and ootanga oil from Namibia in a strikingly beautiful bar that boasts creamy lather and a delightful aroma inspired by African cape lavender and a bouquet of juicy citrus.

KEY INGREDIENT
Moringa Oil: Moringa oil was treasured by ancient cultures as a protectant from harsh desert weather and early Egyptians recorded this early wrinkle removal formula

INFO
Bella Lucce's founder traveled all the way to the village of Djenne, Mali to study the art of bogolan textile making. The creation process goes a bit like this: Malian cotton is handpainted by local women in traditional designs, using a tea made from the leaves of an indigenous tree. This prepares the cloth for further decoration & acts as a fixative for the design. The women wash the fabric and let it dry on the riverbanks before tracing the original design three times with fermented mud from the Niger River, with river washings in between each step. The iron oxides cling to the fabric as the mud is washed away. The result? A gorgeous, indigenous textile, weeks in the making. Bella Luccce is proud to import this custom made bogolan cloth from a women's cooperative in Djenne and we hope you'll find a way to repurpose this authentic piece of African history.
