Weleda skin care voted Best Natural Range for 2010
What an achievement. For the second year running, Weleda has won Best Natural Range in the Natural Health magazine Beauty Awards, beating runners up Burt’s Bees, REN, Trilogy and Ole Henriksen.
We all know that Weleda has an excellent product range, and here’s an explanation from Natural Health explaining why Weleda was a clear winner in the natural category:
“Behind many brands there’s a highly individual company philosophy, and this is truly the case with Weleda. Founded in 1921, the company’s original mission statement, ‘working in harmony with nature’ still appears on packs today. There’s a wide range for all the family including gentle baby care, eco-friendly haircare, anti-aging body care, products for problem skin and a men’s range. Weleda classics include everyday essentials that nourish your skin and revive your senses with aromatic essential oils, leaving you glowing with health. Products are entirely free from synthetic ingredients, GM materials, artificial additives or preservatives and made using all-natural, sustainable and mostly organic ingredients. The range is certified by NaTrue and the eco-credentials of this green beauty pioneer are exemplary.”
Weleda’s fragrance-free Almond Facial Care range was also Highly Commended in the ‘Eczema Range’ category:
“Fragrance and chemical-free, these hypoallergenic products are naturally scented with sweet almond oil, which is also their key active ingredient, nourishing and calming eczema-prone skin”.
Let’s also not forget Weleda Baby winning gold in 2009 under the Mother & Baby Awards
It’s great timing, in the year that Weleda’s golden calendula baby oil is celebrating its 50th birthday, that this highly respected baby range has won yet another accolade and is going from strength to strength.
The range has just been awarded Best Skincare Range Mother & Baby Awards. These awards have been established for 17 years and are considered by many to be the Oscars of the baby industry, with over 3,000 testers trying everything from buggies to breast-pumps and reporting on a huge variety of baby brands.
There are so many baby products on the market that it can be difficult to know which are worth buying. So every year Mother & Baby magazine trials a wide range of products on the market to let parents know which scored highly. The best buys are judged on quality, usability and value for money.
The Weleda Baby range was voted Top Skincare Brand in the highly-respected midwife-tested TIPS awards.
Even to be nominated for the TIPS awards, brands need to meet the strict midwife criteria including standards of ethics and naturalness. Products must be free from detergents and artificial additives such as synthetic fragrance, and company policy needs to support breastfeeding and other issues particularly close to midwives’ hearts. As midwife and author Sharon Trotter, the founder of the TIPS independent testing initiative explains:
“Congratulations go to the Weleda Baby range as the overall favourite. A beautifully presented range of products manufactured using only the finest ingredients by a company committed to restoring health and maintaining wellbeing naturally, ethically, safely, without animal experimentation and without damaging the environment”
Weleda Calendula Cream Bath won Best of the Best Baby Bath, receiving an enthusiastic review from TIPS: “This gorgeous cream bath was a welcome change from bubbles. It was easy to dispense, non-greasy and safe for all even the most delicate bodies. Testers commented that it left their skin (parents and children alike) silky smooth whilst also being effective against dry skin conditions. This product was an overwhelming success for bath time with the added bonus of being backed up by a company with ethical and environmentally friendly credentials that are second to none.”
Weleda’s best-selling Calendula Nappy Change Cream won Best Budget Nappy Cream in its category: great news for this everyday essential. Similarly Calendula Lotion also won Best Budget Baby Lotion in its category.
Weleda’s Calendula Oil also won Best Budget Baby Oil demonstrating what fantastic value this oil is for protecting and replenishing dry skin or for baby massage.
