How to Forget Him or Her

You can never forget someone whom you’ve had a relationship with. The stronger the love, the deeper the wound, the deeper the memories and deeper the pain.

Experts will tell you to forget, move on and let go. Don’t listen to sad songs, don’t look at his/her pictures and don’t hold on to the memories. I’ll tell those experts to jump off a cliff, because that is the only way you can truly forget.

Now I’m in no way suggesting suicide is the answer. So please don’t be jumping off cliffs or bridges.

What I am suggesting is that memories is part of our life experiences whether good or bad, and we should not force ourselves to forget. It is natural for you to still think about this person whom you’ve given and shared so much together.

There are only 3 sure ways I know of that will help with the situation. See if it can work for you.

Don’t force yourself to forget this person.
The more you try, the more you’ll think about him or her. Embrace the feeling of pain. Replay in your mind the good or bad memories you shared over and over again. The feeling of bitter sweet will initially overwhelm you. Embrace it. Hold on to it. Drown yourself in it and flow with your emotions. By facing it head on, eventually the pain will disappear and what you’ll be left with is gratitude.

Time heals all wounds
For some, it may take 1 week, others 1 month or a year, and if the relationship was deep, it could take a decade. But time will wash away the pains and sorrows and soon you’ll find yourself thinking less and less about this person.

Only a New Person / passion in your life can fill the void
You will not fall in love just once in your life. And falling in love doesn’t not necessarily have to be with another person. It can be with some sort activity that you are really passionate about.

When you are ready, GET OUT THERE and start enjoying the social life again. Can be as simple as having a coffee with a friend or joining a charitable organization to help others. When you fall in love again, you’ll cherish it even more, and your past experiences can help guide you in making it a success this time.

Life is not just about relationships, dating, sex or marriage, IT’S SO MUCH MORE. One day you’ll wake up suddenly and discover that the skies are blue, the pain has disappeared, life is so wonderful and you’re in love again.

I agree, “time heals all wounds”. This person whom I was with for a short period chose to be another gal. To this day I’m still thinking about this person. But I do think about him less and less.

The memories are great just thinking about it. For those just coming out of a break up, don’t try to block your feelings. Get out more and meet people. Eventually the pain will go.

    Great article!

Hope everyone finds their true love.
