| I received a very satisfying compliment on the weekend when my friend told me, “your skin looks so good without makeup”. The fact was….. I did have makeup on. I applied natural foundation and concealer. But it blended so well together that it seemed almost transparent on the skin, even in bright translucent lighting or under sunlight.
I was able to achieve a natural look using a sheer layer application technique. Let me give you some quick tips to achieve the best results out of a concealer. |

| What’s special about Suki’s Tinted Moisturiser?
I think the best feature about Suki’s Tinted Moisturiser is it’s ability to match any skin tone naturally.
Make-up companies work frantically to produce numerous foundation shades to tailor for different skin tone complexions. However, these shades often do not match our skin tone and are filled with unsafe chemicals & usually tested on animals. |

| In the dark with dim lighting, wrinkles, fine lines and blemishes around the eyes are difficult to spot. It is during the day, under the unforgiving sunlight and strong flourescent lighting that every skin blemish becomes noticeable. Makeup concealers help hide the imperfections, and is great at covering fine lines and dark eye circles. But the effects can back fire on you if concealers are not applied correctly. You end up with a creasing caking effect that can become worst than the blemishes themselves, and you end up with an uneven look that can become embarrassing to show.

| Would you rub germs and bacteria on your face? Well that is exactly what you are doing when you are reusing makeup after a certain period of time. It’s quite filthy when you think about it. If you put your 6 months old makeup under a microscope, you will be horrified to find the germs crawling, swimming and doing acrobatic moves under your very eyes. Disgusting thought? It’s a disgusting fact!
The shelf life for most makeup that has been opened and used is normally around 3 – 6 months. Any makeup that comes in contact with the eyes and eye fluid is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria – mascaras, eye liners and eye shadows should belong in the rubbish bin after 3 months. Bacteria such as Staph, yeast and fungal can develop and if the bacteria gets into your eyes, you may develop eye infections such as conjuctivitus or other more serious eye conditions.
So how long before you throw away your makeup? Find out what the shelf life is for each makeup product once it has been used for the first time. |
