Natural Deodorant vs Chemical Deodorant

Posted by admin | Natural Skin Care Products | Sunday 29 March 2009 5:12 pm
While there is no concrete proof yet that the chemicals used in deodorant and anti-perspirant sprays cause breast cancer, it may be wise NOT TO apply a mixture of chemicals under the arms and around the breast area for extended periods of time, as this could cause a build-up of toxic overload in the long term.

Deodorant sprays work by trying to destroy and reduce the bacteria on the skin and uses strong artificial fragrances to mask the bad bacteria smells. Common chemicals used include propylene glycol, parabens and triclosan.

Causes of Body Odour

Posted by admin | Natural Skin Care Products | Sunday 29 March 2009 4:35 pm
Sweating is our body’s natural response to regulate body temperature and to release toxins from our bodies. However, the result of sweating along with bacteria may lead to unpleasant body odour.

Our bodies have two types of sweat glands; eccrine and apocrine sweat glands. The sweat released from the “eccrine” sweat glands is odourless made up mainly of water and salt. On the other hand, the sweat that comes from the “apocrine” glands (usually located under the arm pits, the genital areas and around the nipples) contain proteins and oily substances that bacteria can feed on and break down to cause body odour. In short, body odour is the product of bacterial metabolism.

Puffy Eyes

Posted by admin | Anti Aging, Skin Care Tips & Secrets | Saturday 28 March 2009 9:47 pm
Late nights, body dehydration, excessive alcohol, lack of sleep, computer work, allergies and even reading can all lead to swollen puffy eyes.

Normally, the eye puffiness you get in the morning when you wake up should calm down and disappear by mid-morning when the excessive eye fluid that has accumulated throughout the night is drained away. Swelling that doesn’t disappear rapidly once you’re out of bed is commonly caused by allergies, dehydration, or hormonal changes.

Winter Skin Care Tips

Posted by admin | Skin Care Tips & Secrets | Sunday 22 March 2009 5:30 pm
The winter season is approaching! For many people, the cold dry winter climates may bring uncomfortable dryness to the face, hands and feet. For more severe cases, it means unwanted skin conditions flaring up again such as flaking skin, cracking lips, skin allergies, eczema, psoriasis, chapped hands or coarse hair.

The low temperatures, low humidity and strong, harsh winds suck away the moisture in our bodies and deplete our skin of its natural lipid layer which keeps the skin from drying out. More attention is required during the winter months and here are some ways to help you achieve optimal soft skin suppleness during these harsh times.

It all started from just a few soap recipes……

Before leaving for a long trip to India, Joshua made a visit to see his parents where a handmade soap making book that Joshua’s mom had caught his eye. He used the book to his full advantage and completed his first batch of natural handmade soaps where he took with him to India.

Ideas came flooding through his head, and upon his return to America, he decided to make more soap and sell it to fund his traveling trips around the world.
